WBQ has been sympathetically designed to benefit the local environment and its occupants. With sustainability at the top of the agenda, the project is targeting a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating and will feature a wealth of innovative, responsive environmental solutions.
WBQ will become a benchmark project for sustainable development in Windsor creating social inclusion and economic prosperity whilst innovatively implementing environmental strategies that actively respond to the climate change agenda and promote RBWM environmental policies.
The scheme is designed to reduce carbon emissions. It will also introduce renewable energy sources, minimise waste and embrace biodiversity initiatives. The office development is targeting a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) ‘Excellent’ rating and an EPC of ‘B’.
The external facade design incorporates passive environmental control, providing minimal solar gain during the hottest summer months. The environmental controls will utilise the latest energy saving technology to ensure low running costs.
Public realm and landscaping will also use high quality natural materials and extensive planting, including the retention of the best existing tree species around the site perimeter.
